I would like to thank everyone for your continued patronage and support of ONH Consulting and wish everyone a happy Valentine’s Day.  The progress of growing this business is slow and steady and a lot of hard work.

We’ve made progress on a number of fronts.  Most significantly, I had a very productive conversation by e-mail with Dr. Darold Treffert, past president of the Wisconsin Medical Society.  Dr. Treffert is one of the foremost authorities on Savant Syndrome.  Savant Syndrome is characterized by the ability of some people with profound and significant disabilities to demonstrate remarkable skills in narrowly defined and specialized areas.  These might include the ability to play entire musical compositions on a piano after a single hearing, memorize entire books, or calculate large numbers mentally. He is the author of the book, “Extraordinary People” which features detailed biographies and profiles of many people with Savant characteristics.

Dr. Treffert has graciously provided a link to ONH Consulting from the “What’s New” section of his Web site.  The site is located at the following address:

http://www.savantsyndrome.com

This site includes a fascinating collection of articles of famous people with Savant Syndrome, articles about the syndrome from popular magazines and scholarly journals, and links to other resources and current events involving people with this syndrome.  I had the pleasure of watching a segment on Brittany Maier two weeks ago on “Live with Paula Zaan” on CNN.  Brittany is a 16-year-old concert pianist who currently lives in New York.    She is an accomplished composer with her own CD.  She can also play a host of compositions flawlessly.  She is blind and has Autism and other developmental disabilities. I must say I found her music very melodic, intense, and intricate.  She has a feel for music that can only come instinctively.

I wish all of you the best and thank you again for your patronage and support.

Sincerely,

Christopher Sabine
